In an effort to make our BLOG as user-friendly and high-tech as might be, I have added podcasting/podcast subscription capabilities to our BLOG!
NOTE: You DO NOT have to have an iPOD or other type of MP3 device to listen to or watch the media - you only need iTunes on your computer.
To listen to a podcast or watch a video:
1. Download (if you don't have it already) the FREE iTunes program for your PC or Mac by clicking HERE to download it from Apple Computer's website;
2. Install it - then:
3. Open iTunes
4. Right-click and HOLD the mouse button down and drag and drop this "RSS" image:
to your [open] iTunes ICON in your menubar (at bottom of screen).
5. The iTunes window will open back up in front on your screen in a moment...
6. While still holding the mouse button down (and dragging the icon over the iTunes window);
7. Bring the "XML" image you are dragging up and over the PODCASTS directory icon.
8. As soon as iTunes "updates" the window - click on the dot next to the file name you just transferred to iTunes in the main content window - and it will play!
In the future - additional posts may also contain "RSS feeds" (what you are downloading to iTunes). You can always follow the above procedure to copy them to iTunes and play them. This technique will ALSO work with videos and text documents, which can be interpreted and READ BACK TO YOU or your students on computers via "speech-to-text" technology, which already exists in Windows XP and Mac operating systems.
